Domestic and Commercial EPC
Home Condition Surveys
Electrical Testing
Survey and Test provide these services to
businesses, homeowners and Landlords across Kent.
How did Survey and Test's energy need become carbon neutral?
We’ve reduced our electricity consumption and converted to a renewable supplier
We use low emitting vehicles (120g/km rather than the average 180g/km) as well as public transport where equipment needs permit
We also re-use, update and repair where ever possible
We plant trees in our area to offset the remainder (2.8 tonnes)
We keep an open mind about any improvements or changes we might be able make in the future.

Why test for energy efficiency?

Much of the energy used in Commercial and domestic properties is wasted and as a result, commercial buildings are responsible for around 25% of the UK’s carbon emissions with homes adding a further 30%.
An energy performance certificate (EPC) is produced by a certified assessor and shows those responsible for buildings where savings can be made and therefore how we can reduce those carbon emissions.
Carbon emission increases the speed of climate change so small improvements in energy efficiency can make a real difference – the cumulative effect of lots of people making a small improvement is huge.
We’ve all heard how the seemingly small amount of energy needed to power standby facilities on TVs, etc, add up to the equivalent of 2 complete UK power station’s output!
Well, this can work the other way too – if we all improve our energy efficiency a little we can save money and the cumulative benefits to our world are huge; everybody wins.
A thousand mile journey begins with just one step…
and that step could be an energy performance certificate, required for all buildings sold, leased or rented after the 1st October 2008.
